ECU back to stock. Returned to original.

Return your ECU to its original calibration, where a suitable original file is available.

Back to stock.

This service returns your ECU's software to its original calibration. Whether you are undoing an earlier tune, preparing the car for sale or starting again with a new setup, the aim is a car running the software it left the factory with.

It relies on having the right original file, so we confirm availability before we start.

  • Returns the ECU to its original calibration
  • Availability confirmed before work
  • Depends on a suitable original file
  • Tune again later if you wish

Why owners go back to stock.

  • Undo

    Undo an earlier calibration

Changed your mind, or moving to a different setup? Going back gives you a clean starting point.

  • Sell

    Prepare for sale

Hand the car over running its original software.

  • Reset

    Start fresh

Move to a new stage, or a fresh calibration, from a known clean baseline.

  • Diagnose

    Rule out software

Take the calibration out of the picture when you are chasing a drivability concern.

Good practice

The original file is the key.

Going back to stock depends on a clean copy of the original software. That is why we read and back up the ECU before changing anything, and why it helps to tell us if the car was tuned elsewhere before.

What decides availability.

We'll look at

  • Whether a suitable original file is available
  • Whether the ECU was tuned before, and how
  • Your ECU type and software version
  • Whether an unlock is needed

How it's done

  • The original calibration is prepared for your ECU
  • Checksums are handled when the data is written
  • It is written back through the supported route
  • The result is reviewed with you

Four steps to stock.

  1. Tell us about the car

Share your vehicle, ECU and anything you know about previous work on it.

  2. Confirm availability

We check support and whether a suitable original file is available.

  3. Restore

The original calibration is prepared and written back to the ECU.

  4. Review

We check the result with you and agree any next step.

Good to know.

Is the original file always available?

Not always. It depends on the vehicle, ECU and whether a suitable original file or backup exists. We confirm before work starts.

What if the car was tuned somewhere else?

Tell us what you know. We'll review the ECU and confirm whether returning to the original calibration is possible.

Can I have a tune again later?

Yes. You can enquire about Stage 1, 2 or 3 tuning at any time.

Does my ECU need unlocking first?

Possibly. Some ECUs are protected and must be unlocked before they can be written. We confirm this when we review your vehicle.
